Course Overview for Experienced Technicians and Supervisors

Our school offers the 1-Day, Certified Fiber Optic Tech (CFOT) class in Marietta, Georgia, near Atlanta. It is a good option for the busy, experienced tech, contractor, or manager with at least 2 years of experience. You must submit a resume documenting your fieldwork for the Fiber Optic Association (FOA). You'll receive a fiber optic fundamentals overview and learn the FiberNexxt Way™, our method that combines essential theory with practical application in a lively and comfortable setting. With our 99.5% pass rate, most students successfully pass the certification exam.

Our Class Options

Weekdays. We hold live classroom courses typically on the last week of each month. Extra classes may be added depending on student demand. You may also take classes by appointment. Call us for the latest details and schedule.

Weekends. This class usually meets the last two two weekends of the month.

Online classes**. Our live, instructor-led online training usually meets the second week and during the first two weekends of the month.

Classroom. These sessions meet at our Marietta school.

Taking Our Online Courses

Tools are essential for completing hands-on skills training especially for our online classes. You can purchase our toolkit or purchase tools on your own. Please ask for our checklist so that your tool purchases meet class requirements. With our toolkit, you’ll be equipped for your first job on day one. All online students must attend an orientation before the first day of class. Orientation will help you become familiar with our video conferencing tools and confirm you have all required equipment for the class, if applicable.

**We recommend online students register 4 weeks in advance to allow time for toolkit delivery.

Registration & Discounts

What to Expect After Completing Our Course

Upon completing our course, you should have FOA certification and the knowledge to help you stand out as an in-house technician or independent contractor. Although we cannot guarantee job placement, we will refer you to our partners and former clients for work opportunities. Also, we will consider you for available openings on our projects. You will also have access to our instructors/contractors upon obtaining your first assignment. We're happy to answer questions and provide guidance as much as possible to help you succeed.

Class Schedule and Registration Deadlines

One-to-one and one-class-at-a-time options need to be scheduled with a staff member. Online students should register as early as possible.
