We offer the Fiber Optic Association (FOA) Certified Fiber Optic Technician (CFOT) course at our Marietta, Georgia, school near Atlanta. Our company is part of the FOA network, which has certified thousands of fiber technicians since 1995. The educational organization has earned global recognition, and the U.S. Department of Labor acknowledges its certifications.

Our instructors offer in person or online fiber certification classes on weekdays and weekends. Trainees learn the FiberNexxt Way™, our method of combining theory, giving session reviews, and providing hands-on skills training in a comfortable setting. What You Learn From Our Course

We specialize in helping you learn the skills used splicing and outside plant location termination. Our training covers:

Basic Fiber Optic Theory

Get an overview of how fiber optic work, including:

Fiber standards
Fiber system components and hardware
Fiber terminology

Basic Cable Prep & Splicing

You'll learn valuable methods, including:

Practice cable preparation
Review splicing techniques
Perform fusion and mechanical splicing

Basic Connector Termination & Testing

Terminate cables and connectors, including mechanical connectors.
Test cable for insertion loss.

Class Options

You can attend training in our classroom or online, and we offer dates* that fit most schedules. Select your course from the class schedule and keep it on hand to complete your registration form.

Weekdays. This course usually meets the last week of the month.

Weekends. This class meets on weekends. See the schedule.

Classroom. These classes meet at our Marietta school location.

Online. These live classes meet online over the first two weekends. See the schedule.

One Class at a Time. Break our 4-day class into manageable single sessions that you can spread over weeks, weekends, or months. Pay for each session separately, and take up to 4 months to complete your class.

One-on-One Training by Appointment. You may train individually with our FOA-certified instructors.

Taking Our Online Courses

Tools are essential for completing hands-on skills training especially for our online classes. You can purchase our toolkit or purchase tools on your own. Please ask for our checklist so that your tool purchases meet class requirements. With our toolkit, you’ll be equipped for your first job on day one. All online students must attend an orientation before the first day of class. Orientation will help you become familiar with our video conferencing tools and confirm you have all required equipment for the class, if applicable.

As mentioned, tools are essential, especially for our online classes. We outfitted you with equipment that helps your online learning experience go as smooth as possible. The kit will also help you be job-ready on your first day. Please allow 4-6 weeks for delivery.

What to Expect After Completing Our Course

Upon completing our course, you should have FOA certification and the skills to perform entry-level tasks as an in-house fiber technician or independent contractor. Although we cannot guarantee job placement, we will refer you to our partners and former clients for work opportunities. Also, we will consider you for available openings on our projects. You will also have access to our instructors/contractors upon obtaining your first assignment. We're happy to answer questions and provide guidance as much as possible to help you succeed.
