Cable Splicing Training Overview

We help you learn the skills used in today's fiber optic jobs in Marietta, Georgia, near Atlanta. We offer fiber optic splicing training online or in class on weekdays and weekends. With the FiberNexxt Way, you'll receive step-by-step hands-on training in cable prep and splicing. This class may be affordable if you only need skills and want to enter the field quickly. Since this is a non-certification class, students earn a Certificate of Completion.

Course Fee: $595 in class; $495 online

What You Learn From Our Course

You'll learn a key skills used in fiber field work, including:

Preparing cable.
Splicing fiber cables and enclosures.
Testing cable for insertion loss.

Class Options

You can attend training in our classroom or online, and we offer dates* that fit most schedules. Select your course from the schedule and keep it on hand to complete your registration form.

Weekdays. This course usually meets 3 times per month

Online Weekends. This class usually meets on the first two weekends in January, March, May, July, September, and November unless listed otherwise.

Classroom Weekends. This class usually meets on the first two weekends in February, April, June, August, October, and December unless listed otherwise.

Taking Our Online Courses

Tools are essential for completing hands-on skills training especially for our online classes. You can purchase our toolkit or purchase tools on your own. Please ask for our checklist so that your tool purchases meet class requirements. With our toolkit, you’ll be equipped for your first job on day one. All online students must attend an orientation before the first day of class. This will help you become familiar with our video conferencing tools and confirm you have all required equipment for the class.

Registration and Discounts

The last registration day is usually noon, Monday before the first class day. All course fees include a non-refundable $395 deposit, which holds your seat. Discounts are unavailable for this course.

Pathway to Fiber Optic Association (FOA) Certification

We offer a pathway if you're interested in pursuing an FOA certification. Register for a basic certification class within a year of completing your SkillBuilder class. You only need to complete the theory, testing, and class project/certification exam sessions, which you can complete online or in class. This option cannot be combined with discounts. Call us for details and scheduling.

What to Expect After Completing Our Course

Upon completing our course, you should have the skills to perform basic splicing tasks as an independent fiber splicing contractor or in-house splicing technician. Although we cannot guarantee job placement, we will refer you to our partners and former clients for work opportunities. Also, we will consider you for available openings on our projects. You will also have access to our instructors/contractors upon obtaining your first assignment. We're happy to answer questions and provide guidance as much as possible to help you succeed.
